TAMPA -- Kara Braxton scored 29 on 12-for-19 shooting as Georgia handed South Florida its worst loss of the season, 91-44 Thursday night at the Sun Dome.
Katie Frye added 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who outrebounded the Bulls 54-32. Georgia shot 52.2 percent, best this season against USF, and held the Bulls to 25 percent.
Georgia held the Bulls scoreless for the first 3:43 and without a field goal for 61/2 minutes en route to a 15-1 lead. USF pulled within 29-20 with 7:22 left in the half but got no closer as Georgia closed the half with a 20-5 run.
Aiya Shepard led USF with 15 points, all in the first half.
FSU 63, WAKE 61: LaQuinta Neely hit a 10-foot jumper in the lane with 1.7 seconds left to break a tie and lift the visiting Seminoles in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams.
Erin Ferrell, who led the Demon Deacons with 15 points and seven rebounds, hit two free throws with 14 seconds left to force the eighth tie of the second half before Neely's winner.
SAINT LEO 96, N.J. TECH 40: Jackie Pugh and Maria Martin scored 13 each as the host Lions won their sixth straight and seventh in eight games.
