Three stabbed in early-morning Ybor fightBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published January 4, 2003 TAMPA -- Three people were stabbed Friday during an early-morning melee in Ybor City that broke out after the nightclubs closed. About 3 a.m., as people walked out of clubs and toward a parking garage at the intersection of 15th Street and 16th Avenue, two groups exchanged insults. The fight escalated to punches, then someone pulled a knife. Three people were stabbed, said Tampa Police spokeswoman Katie Hughes: Brett Rossi, 18, of Lutz; and Shady Lahhm, 19, and Sergio Gardine, 45, both of Tampa. Gardine was stabbed trying to break up the fight, she said. The three men were not together, Hughes said. Lahhm declined medical attention at the scene. Rossi was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later checked himself out. Early Friday evening, Gardine was still at TGH in fair condition. Police are searching for the people who stabbed the three men. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
