Daniels' gift to Angelus, and fans

For more than a decade, country star Charlie Daniels, above, has been a huge benefactor of the Angelus, a Pasco County group home for developmentally disabled children and adults.

Daniels brings in a bunch of his music buddies each year for an all-day jam to benefit the Angelus. This year's Charlie Daniels Angelus Country Concert begins at 11 a.m. Sunday in Clearwater's Coachman Park. And, for the first time, admission is free. (A VIP package that includes two reserved seats, four drinks and two meals is $99.50.)

The lineup includes a range of acts from relative newcomers such as Steve Azar (Waitin' on Joe) and Joe Nichols (The Impossible) to more established country stars such as Tracy Byrd and Andy Griggs. Plus, for classic Southern rock fans, there will be appearances by Molly Hatchet and the Marshall Tucker Band.

For more information, call (727) 243-8293 or go to www.theangelus.com.
