BIG BAND TRIBUTE: Jazz Night will be held from 6 to 9 Thursday at Glen Lakes Country Club, off Commercial Way, north of Weeki Wachee. The event will feature Randy Rondo and Smooth Jazz, a tribute to the big-band era. There will be dancing. A light menu and cash bar will be available. Admission is $3 per person. TIME FOR A TROUBADOUR: The Community Performing Arts Guild will present singer Bill Schustik at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday in a free concert at Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. Schustik has performed for three presidents, appeared on and off Broadway, authored two full-length ballets with Edward Villella and Edward Verso and appeared in several commercial and public TV specials. ARTIST OF THE MONTH: The Spring Hill Art League's Artist of the Month for January is Rima Childiaeva, a Spring Hill winter resident. SOPHISTICATED JAZZ: Carol Welsman will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Hernando High School Performing Arts Center, 700 Bell Ave., Brooksville. The internationally acclaimed jazz singer and pianist was voted Vocalist of the Year at the 2002 National Jazz Awards in Toronto. She also is an accomplished lyricist and has written music for Ray Charles. Tickets cost $18 and may be purchased at the performing arts center. Call 799-5577

COMIC RELIEF: The mystery comedy Knock 'em Dead will be performed in a dinner-theater setting Jan. 29 at the Riverside Buffet House, 4152 U.S. 19 S, Homosassa Springs. Tickets are $30 in advance and $32 at the door and are available at all Citrus County Chamber of Commerce offices, Playhouse 19 and Citrus County Art League box offices and at all Citrus County SunTrust Bank locations. Proceeds benefit Citrus 20/20 Inc., which is co-sponsoring the play with the Citrus County Art League, Gulf Islands Civic Theatre and Playhouse 19.
