John Williams, who guided the Countryside girls to Class 3A state tennis championships in 2001 and 2002, has resigned after two seasons as the Cougars coach.

Williams, who coached standout players Jennifer Dent and Evangelina Soriano, also coached the boys team. He was twice named the Times Girls Coach of the Year.

Williams' resignation leaves Countryside looking for a tennis coach. Those interested should contact Elizabeth Collins at (727) 725-7956.
