Krispy Kreme to sprout in New Tampa this springBy JOHN BALZ and BILL COATS© St. Petersburg Times published January 12, 2003 NEW TAMPA -- Krispy Kreme, the venerable doughnutmaker, is coming to New Tampa this spring. The new store, near the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Dona Michelle Drive, will feature hot coffee and doughnuts served under Krispy Kreme's distinctive green tile roof. The company, which began with the purchase of a secret doughnut recipe from a New Orleans chef, now sells more than 5-million doughnuts a day and 2-billion every year. Lutz panel to discuss rural water, sewer linesLUTZ -- A proposal to allow extension of water and sewer lines into rural areas that are environmentally sensitive is to be discussed Thursday at the monthly meeting of the Lutz Civic Association. Areas designated as rural under Hillsborough County law are limited to low-density development on wells and septic tanks.
