NEW TAMPA -- Krispy Kreme, the venerable doughnutmaker, is coming to New Tampa this spring.

The new store, near the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Dona Michelle Drive, will feature hot coffee and doughnuts served under Krispy Kreme's distinctive green tile roof.

The company, which began with the purchase of a secret doughnut recipe from a New Orleans chef, now sells more than 5-million doughnuts a day and 2-billion every year.

Lutz panel to discuss rural water, sewer lines

LUTZ -- A proposal to allow extension of water and sewer lines into rural areas that are environmentally sensitive is to be discussed Thursday at the monthly meeting of the Lutz Civic Association. Areas designated as rural under Hillsborough County law are limited to low-density development on wells and septic tanks. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lutz Community Center, just north of the intersection of U.S. 41 and Lutz-Lake Fern Road.
