TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Kent Williams scored all 20 of his points during the final 21 minutes to help Southern Illinois improve to 4-0 in the Missouri Valley. It, Wichita State and Creighton are the only teams unbeaten in the conference.

The Salukis (9-3) took a 44-35 lead in the second half on Williams' 3-pointer. After the Sycamores moved to within 45-44, Williams capped a 7-0 run with another 3-pointer. Indiana State got no closer than five the rest of the way.

"Any time you win on the road, you're happy," SIU coach Bruce Weber said. "It wasn't the prettiest game, but I thought we did a very good job defensively."
