John A. Alden has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force after completing the Air Force ROTC program and graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida, Orlando.

He is a 1996 graduate of Bloomingdale High School, Valrico, and is the son of Michell J. Allen, Valrico, and John B. Alden, Oviedo.

Army Pvt. Aaron V. Blount graduated from the light-wheel vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

He is the son of Bonnie J. Perez, Mango.

Air Force Airman Jessica S. Henderson graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

She is the granddaughter of Robert Hackett, Fort Walton Beach, and the daughter of Kristine Henderson, Tampa.

Air Force Airman Daniel M. Shea graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is a 2001 graduate of Palm Harbor University High School, Palm Harbor, and is the son of Michael and Annette Shea, Tampa.

Air Force Airman Michael M. Swank graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is a 2000 graduate of Chamberlain High School, Tampa, and is the son of Luke and Gina Collins, Tampa, and grandson of Audrey Camp, Lutz.
