Town & Country Hospital seeks more parking

TOWN & COUNTRY: Town & Country Hospital wants more parking at 6001 Webb Road. Plans show a 24-aisle, 630-space lot surrounded by landscape buffering and fencing. The property is now zoned for a 5,000-square-foot 106-residential home and child care center serving up to 200 children. A land use hearing officer is scheduled to hear the proposal Feb. 25. NORTHDALE: County commissioners on Tuesday voted to block plans that would have brought another subdivision bordering the Northdale community.

The rezoning would have allowed up to 52 homes on 18.6 acres at the northwest corner of Lakeshore and Wilcox roads. Proposed lot sizes varied from 8,540 square feet inside the subdivision to larger lots of 10,125 square feet along the community's perimeter. But the board denied the application, saying the development would not be compatible with the surrounding larger-lot homes surrounding Lake LeClaire. (Petition 02-1274)

County commissioners voted to approve the following proposals at Tuesday's land-use meeting:

TOWN 'N COUNTRY: Navpreet and Harveer Randhawa won permission to develop a 17-unit townhouse complex on the east side of Sheldon Road, south of Waters Avenue. (Petition 02-1419)

CITRUS PARK: The board approved a commercial business and home office on the north side of Gunn Highway, west of the Veterans Expressway. The 1.7-acre site was previously zoned to allow a convenience store, service center and car wash station. Commissioners included a condition that now prohibits those uses. (Petition 01-1518)

CARROLLWOOD: Avis Rent-A-Car will operate a 1,840-square-foot car rental office at the Verizon Center on Dale Mabry Highway, south of Floyd Road. (Petition 02-1068)

TOWN 'N COUNTRY: Adolfo Rubio may develop a 20,700-square-foot office, retail and warehouse project on Linebaugh Avenue, west of Henderson Road. (Petition 02-1314)

UPPER TAMPA BAY: A Hillsborough County fire station will soon occupy the southwest corner of Pistol Range Road and Montague Street. (Petition 03-0014)

When and where:

Hearings of county zoning hearing masters and land use hearing officers, and land use meetings of the County Commission are held on the second floor of the County Center, 601 E Kennedy Blvd. Zoning hearings begin at 6 p.m., and commission meetings begin at 9 a.m. Both are televised on government access channels.
