Teen faces charges after portable bathrooms damagedBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published January 22, 2003 BEVERLY HILLS -- Authorities have accused a 17-year-old boy of hitting and damaging two portable bathrooms with a car Tuesday morning. The boy, who is from Citrus Springs, was charged with two counts of criminal mischief. About 7 a.m. Tuesday, after receiving a report of a suspicious person, a Citrus County Sheriff's deputy went to the area of North Elkcam Boulevard and Lena Drive, an arrest report showed. The deputy saw a Jeep Cherokee buried in sugar sand that had crashed into a portable bathroom, causing $150 to $200 in damage, the report said. The report said another nearby portable unit had a large dent and tire tracks leading up to it. The suspect, whose name is withheld because of his age, told authorities he was driving to school and felt like damaging the property, the report said. The Department of Juvenile Justice advised deputies to release the boy to his parent or guardian. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
