TAMPA -- A 46-year-old man killed his roommate early Wednesday after an argument over living arrangements, Tampa police said.

Billy Joe Jackson of 3917 W Oklahoma Ave. told his roommate he needed to move out of the home, police said. The roommate, whom police did not name Wednesday, refused.

Detectives said Jackson then shot and killed the man.

Records show that two other men -- both named Jenthis Dale Jackson -- ages 42 and 19, also live at the home. It was not clear whether either was involved in the shooting.

State records indicate that Jackson has been arrested four times since 1984. Three were on battery charges and one was on a sexual assault charge. The outcomes of those cases were not available late Wednesday.

Jackson remained in jail Wednesday night without bail.
