CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Kent Williams scored 22 and Darren Brooks had 21 points and eight rebounds as Southern Illinois bounced back from its first Missouri Valley Conference loss.

Williams completed a three-point play with 40 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime tied at 71. Then he hit a jumper in overtime to start a 9-2 run.

The Salukis, who lost to Creighton on Saturday, made eight free throws during the final 1:09 to seal the victory.

The Salukis (11-4), who were outrebounded by the Panthers 38-30, improved to 6-1 in the Missouri Valley, one game behind Creighton and a half-game ahead of Wichita State and Southwest Missouri State.
