ST. PETERSBURG -- St. Petersburg Catholic trounced Admiral Farragut Academy 46-17 on Monday night.
Michie Hooks scored 13 first-half points as the Barons (13-7) charged out to a 22-0 lead at the end of the first quarter before turning to a deliberate, ball-control game.
SPC coach Nick Vandewalle found positives in the rout.
"It was a fun warmup for Wednesday's game with Clearwater Central," he said. "We have a really good rivalry going with them, they're in our district and they just edged us out last time we played."
Hooks left the game early in the second quarter with a toe injury, slowing down the scoring.
Hooks didn't mind the time off.
"It was best for me to sit," she said. "It was good for the team."
The Blue Jackets fell to 3-13.
