ST. PETERSBURG -- Admiral Farragut turned away each of Northside Christian's comeback attempts in the fourth quarter Thursday night, earning its 20th win with an 82-67 victory.

John Whitehead led Admiral Farragut with 20 points, 12 in the second half. Tommy Lampley added 16 and Benny Clyde and Vitor Boccardo each had 14.

While Admiral Farragut (20-2) spread the scoring around, two players scored two-thirds of Northside's points. Lance Skipper had a game-high 26 and Christian Boyle helped keep the Mustangs close with 19. Boyle hit four 3-pointers and had a game-high seven steals.

Northside (16-5) jumped out early, leading 15-14 at the end of the first. But The Blue Jackets scored 21 in the second to take a 35-30 halftime lead. The Blue Jackets never trailed again.

Admiral Farragut tried to open the gap in the third, but Northside equaled the 19 points Admiral Farragut scored.

Northside's Skipper was 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the fourth and added two 3-pointers, keeping his team close. But the Mustangs could not get closer than five in the final three minutes.

Clyde's free throws with a minute left put the Blue Jackets up 10, sealing the victory.

"Benny Clyde was definitely our key to victory," Admiral Farragut coach Mike Wells said.
