DADE CITY -- The call is out for artists in all mediums interested in participating in downtown's newest festival, the Spring Festival of the Arts.
As part of the event, the Critters and Conservation Art Show welcomes artists with work that captures the feeling of Florida's natural environment and wildlife, said Downtown Dade City Main Street's executive director, Ginny Solberg.
The March 29 event brings a spring festival to downtown for the first time in several years, since the demise of the jazz festival.
Solberg said the day will include the art show, the Dade City Garden Club's flower show, a sale of native plants, and a series of talks with artists and experts on Florida wildlife and environment.
The flower show will get an early jump on the event, opening inside the historic downtown courthouse March 28.
The rest of the show opens March 29.
"It's all about Florida stuff," Solberg said. "It should be beautiful."
Solberg said artists interested in participating should submit an application by the end of February. Applications are available at Solberg's office on Sixth Street opposite the courthouse, online at www.pascowildlife.com, or by calling Belinda East at (813) 973-0860.
