Marine Corps Pvt. Paul C. Jaynes, son of Mary D. Byrd of St. Petersburg and Don C. Jaynes of Naples, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris island, S.C. He is a 2002 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Coast Guard Seaman Jason W. Bryant, son of Julie Bryant of Pinellas Park and Kevin W. Bryant of Clearwater, recently graduated from the Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May, N.J. He is currently serving at the Charleston Group Base, Charleston, S.C. He is a 2002 graduate of the Criminal Justice Academy at Pinellas Park High School.

Cmdr. William J. Robertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Robertson of St. Petersburg, recently assumed command of Mobile Diving Salvage Unit TWO (MDSU TWO) located at Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Va. As commanding officer of the USS Grapple (ARS 53) from 1996 to 1998, Robertson was involved in the TWA 800 salvage and recovery operation. He also served aboard the USS Barbara (AE 28) and the USS Edenton (ATS 1). He completed Basic Diving Officer and Salvage Officer courses in 1984. He is a 1983 graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J.

Marine Corps Pfc. Geoffrey J. Braboy, son of Robert J. Braboy of St. Petersburg and Colleen J. Nagel of Franklin, Mich., recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Marine Corps Reserve Pfc. Thomas J. Angarano II, son of Kathie and Thomas J. Angarano of St. Petersburg, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., where he received the highest marksmanship award. He is currently attending combat training at Camp LeJeune, N.C., then will return to Tampa as a reservist with the Fourth Assault Amphibian Battalion. He is a student at St. Petersburg College and is a 2000 graduate of Northeast High School.

Engineman 2nd Class Brian Tilki, son of Joseph and Jeanne Tilki, was recently promoted to his current rank. He is stationed at Little Creek Amphibious Base, Virginia Beach, Va., attached to a Navy Seal team.
