ST. PETERSBURG -- The Devil Rays are seeking maximum television exposure this season.

The Rays announced plans Tuesday to increase the number of games televised to a club record 140 -- including the March 31 opener at 7:15 p.m., against Boston. The team will show 71 of 81 home games and 69 road games.

Also new this season, games are being divided between two outlets -- 75 will be on the Fox Sports Net Florida cable network and 65 on over-the-air WXPX-Ch. 66. Dewayne Staats and Joe Magrane return for their sixth season and will share responsibility for the Fox pregame show.

CAMINITI TO REHAB: Former National League MVP Ken Caminiti was ordered to a state-run drug treatment facility, giving him another chance to avoid jail time for cocaine use.

ASTROS: Left-hander Carlos Hernandez will miss the season after surgery on his throwing shoulder.

RED SOX: Former Hernando High right-hander Bronson Arroyo was claimed off waivers. He was 9-14 with a 5.44 ERA for the Pirates last season.

OLYMPICS: USOC president resigns

Marty Mankamyer resigned as president of the U.S. Olympic Committee, succumbing to pressure from officials in the nation's top Olympic organization. Mankamyer, the USOC's highest-ranking volunteer, submitted her resignation via e-mail to members of the organization's executive committee. The executive committee was expected to take a vote of no confidence this weekend in Chicago after seven members asked for her resignation.

AUTO RACING: Man dies at driving school

A man in town for a business convention died of natural causes while driving at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Philip Jerome Malarkey's death was attributed to coronary atherosclerosis, the coroner's office said. The 58-year-old Malarkey became unconscious while driving a car similar to those used in NASCAR's Winston Cup Series. NASCAR: Driver Kyle Busch signed a contract with Hendrick Motorsports after deciding not to join his older brother, Kurt, at Roush Racing. Kyle Busch will race in at least seven Busch series events this season -- after he turns 18 on May 2.

PREPS: Attorney wants ruling blocked

LeBron James' attorney requested a temporary restraining order to block a ruling by state officials that barred the superstar for the rest of the season. The 6-foot-8 senior at Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary did nothing wrong when he accepted two sports jerseys from a Cleveland clothing store, attorney Fred Nance said in documents filed in Summit County Common Pleas Court. Judge James Williams set a hearing for today.
