SIU 65, Drake 64

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Jermaine Dearman scored 16, including the winning basket Thursday as Southern Illinois tied for first in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Dearman's rebound basket with 1:53 left gave the Salukis (15-4, 10-1) the win.

Luke McDonald's 12-footer for Drake with six seconds remaining was wide. The Bulldogs have lost four in a row and 10 of their past 12.

The Salukis opened a 30-21 lead with 4:44 left in the first half when Brad Korn connected on a 3-pointer from 24 feet to begin an 11-3 run.

The Bulldogs answered with an 11-2 run, sparked by Lonnie Randolph's five points, to tie the score at 32 at halftime.

J.J. Sola had 20 points and nine rebounds and Greg Danielson had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
