Submit your tribute to 'Columbia'
By Times Staff Writer There have been other sad stories since the loss of life in the 9/11 attacks, but the loss of the space shuttle Columbia has hit particularly hard because of the hope the crew brought to people around the world about the expanding horizons of science. Lost with the crew were, among other scientific research, experiments from high school classes. We want children to tell us in words and pictures what they are feeling after the space shuttle Columbia disaster for possible publication in Xpress, the children's pages that appear Monday in Floridian. Submit your poetry, prose and artwork to "A tribute to Columbia," c/o Xpress, P.O. Box 1121, St. Petersburg, FL 33731. Work must be received by Wednesday. Please include your name, age, grade, school and a phone number if we need to reach you. Only artwork will be returned, if you provide a complete return mailing address. You also may e-mail submissions to Floridian@sptimes.com with "A tribute to Columbia" in the subject line. E-mail users, please note: We cannot accept attachments.
