Teen dies when van hits carBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published February 9, 2003 A 16-year-old Dover girl died early Saturday when a van drove through a stop sign, slamming into her car, police say. Kori Lynn Wilson, 16, of 2609 S McIntosh Road was making a left turn onto Sydney Road in Dover when a 1992 Ford van headed south on Forbes Road failed to stop for a stop sign, authorities said. The van crashed into the passenger side of Wilson's car shortly before 2 a.m. She died at the scene. Police said the driver of the van fled on foot. Jose Ramiro Velasquez, 20, of New Port Richey, was arrested Saturday night in Lutz and charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a fatality. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
