Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael E. Brown, son of Carolyn J. Bigger of Pinellas Park, recently departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and the Arabian Gulf, assigned to Sea Control Squadron 22 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman. His home base is Naval Air Station Jacksonville. He joined the Navy in 1997 and is a 1992 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Pfc. Kevin Fee, son of Linda and Michael Fee of St. Petersburg, was recently deployed to Kuwait with the Army's 3rd Infantry Division. He is a graduate of Gibbs High School.

2nd Lt. Lauren E. Coppins, daughter of Mary Lynn and Steve Coppins of St. Petersburg, recently graduated from the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Ga. She was selected for the Transportation Corps and will attend the Officer Basic Course at Fort Eustis, Va. Her first duty assignment will be at Fort Stewart, Ga. She is a 1998 graduate of Shorecrest Preparatory School and a 2002 graduate of Florida State University.

Navy Hospitalman Recruit Jennifer B. Lynch, daughter of Julieanne Picone of Pinellas Park and Kelly D. Rudd of White Plains, N.Y., recently graduated from the Basic Hospital Corps School at Naval Hospital Corps School, Great Lakes, Ill. She is a 2002 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jay G. Gerbase, son of Theresa A. Gerbase of Redington Beach and Walter P. Gerbase of Madeira Beach, recently graduated from the Navy's Basic Nuclear Power School with Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit, Goose Creek, Charleston, S.C. He is a 2000 graduate of Seminole High School and joined the Navy in July 2001.
