His jokes win awards
Darryl Lenox grew up in Las Vegas but his comedy routine is better known in Canada, where he got his start as a comic in Vancouver. He got a nod from one of the judges for Best Joke at the 2001 Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. ("Who cares less about your problems than you do? Everybody.")
His "Shaquille-O'Neal-as-proctologist" shtick was named by two judges as the act they would most want to see again.
He also has appeared on BET's Best of Comic View, A&E's Evening at the Improv and Comedy Central.
Lennox comes to Coconuts Comedy Club in Howard Johnson, 6100 Gulf Blvd, St. Pete Beach at 9:30 nightly today through Sunday. Admission is $12. RSVP: (727) 360-5653.
