Rocky Cozart, Brandon

Cozart, 16, won the 152-pound individual championship in the Tony Ippolito Memorial Wrestling Tournament on Feb. 1. The coaches selected Cozart the outstanding wrestler of the tournament because his weight class was one of the most competitive and he defeated a defending state champion in the finals. He decisioned Manatee's previously undefeated Trevor Fair 6-1 in the title match.

Russ Cozart, Brandon

Cozart, 49, recorded his 300th consecutive victory without a defeat Saturday as head coach of the Brandon Eagles wrestling team. When Cozart took charge of the Brandon wrestling team in 1980, the win streak was 75-0. The win put the Eagles record at 375-0. Before taking over at Brandon, Cozart was 24-1 at Upland High in California, 12-12 at Chamberlain for a career record of 336-13. Retired coach Jim Graves recorded the team's first 75 victories starting in 1973.

Jason Poole, Brandon

Poole, 17, scored three goals and added three assists to help Brandon's boys win both its soccer matches in the Class 2A, District 9 tournament on last week. In capturing the title, the Eagles earned home field advantage for the first regional match. Pool, a senior and one of the captains of the Eagles team, has recorded 17 goals and 19 assists in 19 games so far this season.
