Parents can enter children in county fair pageantsBy Times staff© St. Petersburg Times published February 15, 2003 INVERNESS -- The Citrus County Fair Association is accepting applications for the County Fair children's pageants, which are scheduled March 16 at the Citrus County Auditorium. The 2003 Pre-Teen Pageant is open to ages 9 through 13. The Little Miss/Mr. Pageants are open to ages 5 through 8, and the Beautiful Baby Pageants, for children ages 1 to 5, will be at 2 p.m. The day concludes with the Decorated Diaper contest at 4 p.m. Contestants must be residents of Citrus County. There is a $25 entry fee, and advance registration is required. Applications are available at all Chamber of Commerce offices and the fair office, 3600 S Florida Ave. (U.S. 41 S), Inverness. Applications must be in to the fair office or postmarked by Feb. 21. Admission to the event is $5 for adults; $3 for children ages 6-11; and free for children 5 and younger. One person will be admitted free with each contestant. For information, call 726-2993.
