A major-league home
If you've been yearning for a peek inside the former home of Atlanta Braves outfielder Gary Sheffield -- the 11,000-square-foot mansion on Pinellas Point in St. Petersburg that he sold last summer for $2.8-million -- wait no longer. It's one of nine homes on this year's St. Petersburg Catholic High house tour, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 1. Tickets ($10) go on sale today at Artistic Flowers, 3247 Fourth St. N and 3525 49th St. N; Jene's Tropicals, 6831 Central Ave.; Gulf Coast Garden Center, 4355 Haines Road; and Diamonds Direct, 5085 34th St. S, all in St. Petersburg; and at Georgette's Old Hyde Park Village, 1619 W Snow Circle in Tampa.
Show's almost over
It's the last weekend to view the "Jewels on the Bay" show house on St. Armands Key in Sarasota. This 1937 Italian Renaissance home is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at 139 S Washington Drive. Directions: From U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) in downtown Sarasota, drive west on the Ringling Causeway to St. Armands Key, then turn left on S Washington Drive. Tickets: $17. Information: (941) 302-0132 . . . The Florida West Coast Symphony show house continues through March 2 at a contemporary home at 7102 Hawk's Harbor Circle in Bradenton. Directions: From Interstate 75, take Exit 213 (University Parkway) and drive west 7 miles to U.S. 41. Turn right. Just north of the Holiday Inn Marina, turn left (west) at the traffic light onto 69th Avenue W. Hawk's Harbor is on the left. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
