If you want to get out and have some fun this weekend, there are plenty of entertaining options to choose from.
A comedy at the Citrus County Art League, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., explores the pitfalls of love. This Must Be the Place examines the life of a world-famous artist whose plans for romance turn into a comedy of errors. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. today and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. -- The Grand Ole Opry, Citrus County Style, will showcase local country music singers and raise money for Homosassa Elementary School tonight at Curtis Peterson Auditorium. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $7 at Act 1 Video in Homosassa, all Citrus County Chamber of Commerce offices and SunTrust banks. Tickets are $9 at the door. Children younger than 6 are admitted free. Curtis Peterson Auditorium is at Lecanto High School, off County Road 491 S.
-- The Citrus Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines presents Anything Goes, a musical revue, barbershop style, at 2 p.m. today at the Citrus County Auditorium at the fairgrounds on U.S. 41 S, Inverness. Tickets are $10 at the door or by reservation. Call 726-8666.
-- Chili lovers should check out the second annual chili cookoff today at the Seagrass Pub and Grill, 10386 Halls River Road, Homosassa. Chili chefs start cooking at 9 a.m., and the judging (and also the tasting) begins at 2 p.m. Tasting the chili costs $2. The event is a fundraiser for the Make A Wish Foundation. Other activities include hermit crab racing and a drawing for NASCAR jacket. Call 628-3595.
-- Movies and a meal are offered at the Crystal River State Buffer Preserve, 3266 N Sailboat Ave., Crystal River, which is showing a double feature of nature films, Living Together and Friends & Rivals. Show times are 3 to 5 p.m. and again from 7 to 9 p.m. today. A fish and chips dinner starts at 5 p.m. for $5 at the Crystal River Archaeological State Park, 3400 N Museum Point, around the corner from the preserve. A lecture will be presented by archaeologist Gary Ellis at 6:30 p.m. today, followed by a full moon guided tour of the archaeological site. Call 563-0450 or 795-3817.
-- The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness, hosts a forum at 11 a.m. today that discusses how the media and the community can communicate about racial diversity. The forum will be led by Keith Woods, a teacher at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies in St. Petersburg. The nonprofit institution offers journalism-related educational programs. The institute holds the controlling stock in the Times Publishing Co., which publishes the St. Petersburg Times. Admission is free. Call 341-6429.

-- The Mickey Finn show returns to the Rock Crusher Garden Pavilion, 275 S Rock Crusher Road, Crystal River, for two shows today, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Finn, the former house bandleader at the Garden Pavilion, plays piano, accompanied by a group of virtuoso players. -- Lou Rawls performs Sunday at the Silver Springs attraction on E Silver Springs Boulevard (State Road 40) 1 mile east of Ocala. Music begins at noon, and Rawls is scheduled to perform about 3 p.m. Guests can bring folding chairs to this outdoors venue, or rent chairs at the park. Reserved VIP seats are available for $15. The concert is included in the regular admission. The Florida resident discount is $22.99 per person, plus tax, and is in effect through April 30.
