At Raymond James & Associates in St. Petersburg, the staff is still basking in the Super Bowl victory of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (who, after all, play in Raymond James Stadium).
In a recent research report, Raymond James wireless analyst Ric Prentiss observed that the "hoped for" consolidation of the crowded U.S. wireless industry didn't happen in 2002. But, he added optimistically, "The Tampa Bay Buccaneers destroyed the Oakland Raiders to win the first Super Bowl in their 27-year history, proving there is always hope."
Prentiss even invoked coach Jon Gruden's favorite slogan in urging investors to keep their faith in the future of wireless. "Keep pounding the rock," he wrote.
