Navy Lt. Robert W. Thomas, son of Laraine and Robert W. Thomas of Seminole, has reported for duty aboard the fleet ballistic missile submarine USS Louisiana, home port Kings Bay, Ga. Thomas is a 1994 graduate of Worcester (Mass.) Polytechnic Institute and a 2000 graduate of Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif. He joined the Navy in 1994.

Marine Corps Cpl. Paul R. Baney, son of Julia Baney of St. Petersburg, was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36, Marine Air Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan. He joined the Marine Corps after graduating in 1998 from Northeast High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Antrone J. Tumbling, son of Dondrea L. Mitchell of St. Petersburg, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2002 graduate of Northeast High School.

Army Sgt. Colleen Chesnes, daughter of Sally Chesnes of St. Petersburg, has been deployed with the 32nd Transportation Group to Fort Stewart, Ga., for training and deployment overseas.

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Lamont Pelaez, son of Joan Wesner of St. Petersburg, is the personnel officer aboard the USS Preble, a newly commissioned AEGIS class destroyer. His home port is San Diego. He joined the Navy in 1993 and is a 1992 graduate of Northeast High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Sean F. Chandler, son of Patricia A. Chandler of Seminole, recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2002 graduate of Osceola High School.
