CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Kent Williams had a season-high 28 points and made 9 of 11 shots as Southern Illinois won its 24th straight home game Wednesday night.

Williams passed Ashraf Amaya and Mike Glenn for second in career scoring at SIU with 1,890 points. The Salukis (18-5, 13-2 Missouri Valley Conference) remained tied for first with No. 17 Creighton.

The Salukis never trailed in the second half but never led by more than nine. Southwest Missouri State (15-9, 10-4) got as close as 57-53 with 4:04 left.

UP NEXT: vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 2 p.m. Saturday. TV: ESPN2.
