BOYS CLASS 5A, DISTRICT 10: The Pirates eliminate Gibbs and face St. Petersburg, which beat Seminole.

GULFPORT -- Boca Ciega, the No. 2 seed and tournament host, advanced to the district final by surviving a scare from Gibbs.
Down by three to begin the fourth quarter, the Pirates put it together when it counted most, outscoring the Gladiators 17-11 down the stretch to win 56-53.
Marquel Brooks led Boca Ciega with 18 points. Walter Brady scored a team-high 16 for Gibbs (10-15).
The victory means the Pirates (18-9) play No. 1 seed St. Petersburg at 7:30 Saturday night for the title. St. Petersburg beat Seminole 63-41.
The Green Devils rolled out to a 34-17 halftime lead and were not challenged.
Deon Troupe scored 17 and Brian Blakely added 14 for St. Petersburg (20-5).
Devon Collins (13 points) was the only Warhawk who reached double digits in scoring.
