Megan Bowers, Valrico
Bowers, 15, continued to maintain her mastery over opponents as the Durant goal keeper Feb. 6 in the finals of the district championship tournament in Bradenton. She recorded her 13th shutout of the season in guiding Durant to a 2-0 victory over Bradenton Lakewood Ranch. The Cougar sophomore is playing keeper for her first season as a starter.
Rashard Goff, Brandon
Goff, 17, maintained his perfect wrestling record by pinning his way through the Class 2A, District 7 tournament Saturday. He won the 215-pound individual championship, helping Brandon win the team title and extending his personal record to 31-0 for the season. The junior is in his third season of wrestling.
Angelo Metallo, Valrico
Metallo, 17, was the spear of Bloomingdale's attack against Sarasota Feb.13 in a 4-1 victory over the Sailors in the Region II soccer quarterfinals. The Bulls senior forward/midfielder scored three goals. He maintains a 3.0 GPA in academics and will decide where to play college soccer after the season ends.
