WHAT: The series is the longest-running road racing series in North America.

WHEN: Today -- Practice, 8-8:45 a.m. and 4:40-5 p.m. Saturday -- Qualifying, 11:30-12:10. Sunday -- Warmup, 8:30-8:45 a.m.; Race, 4 p.m.

DESCRIPTION: The series features performance car sedans, including Chevrolet Cameros and Corvettes, Dodge Vipers, Ford Mustangs, Jaguars and Panoz Esperantes. Top speeds are 180 mph. The engine is a basic production V-8, overhead valve, naturally aspirated engine. Turbocharging or supercharging are prohibited.

Barber Dodge

WHEN: Today -- Practice, 9-9:40 a.m. and 1:30-2:05 p.m. Saturday -- Qualifying, 9-9:40 a.m.; Race, 3:45 p.m

DESCRIPTION: With similar aerodynamics to CART Champ Cars, the open-wheel Barber Dodge vehicles can reach top speeds of 155 to 165 mph. They weigh at least 1,400 pounds. The series owns, maintains, prepares and transports all the cars and equipment to ensure all drivers are in equal equipment.

Fran-Am

WHEN: Today -- Practice, 12:45-1:15 p.m.; Saturday -- Qualifying, 8:15-8:45 a.m. and 12:20-12:50 p.m.; Sunday -- Warmup, 8-8:15 a.m.; Race, 10:20 a.m

DESCRIPTION: The open-wheel series is a cousin of the renowned Formula Renault program, which holds championships in Europe, South America and Asia. The chassis is manufactured in the same facility that makes Ferrari's Formula One chassis. The powerplant is a sealed 2.0-liter, 186-horsepower fuel-injected engine capable of running an entire season without a rebuild. Top speed is about 130 mph, and the average cars costs about $42,000.
