WEST PALM BEACH -- Getting a spark from one of its smallest players, Palm Beach Lakes pulled away from Bloomingdale in the first half and cruised to a 49-30 quarterfinal victory.
Lakes' key player was sophomore guard Floreisha Allen, who had four of her 10 points during an early 11-0 run that sealed the victory.
Bloomingdale troubled the Rams (21-7) with a first-quarter zone and the Bulls trailed 8-5 after five minutes.
Then Allen came in and by halftime the Rams' advantage had stretched to 25-11.
Bloomingdale (21-7) seemed to struggle with star forward Erica Woodard (game-high 12 points) hobbled with a sore ankle.
