Saluki-meter

Losing in overtime to Bradley (9-14) hurt the Salukis.

While they possibly could have afforded a loss to Wisconsin-Milwaukee or Creighton and stayed on the bubble, the loss to the Braves (RPI of 193) makes winning out a necessity. Though they would have preferred a game against a higher profile school such as Fresno State or Hawaii, getting UWM in today's ESPN "Bracket Buster" is not bad. The Panthers are 21-5 and have won eight in a row. Their RPI is 62 (Fresno State's is 59, Hawaii is at 98), and SIU's is 78. A victory gets the Salukis closer to the bubble. A victory March 2 at Creighton (43 RPI) puts them back on.
