CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Rookie Brandon Bernstein got his first Top Fuel victory in his second start, winning the NHRA Nationals on Sunday.
Ron Capps and Greg Anderson also posted wins at the $1.9-million race.
Bernstein finished with a 4.574-second run at 322.58 mph to edge Larry Dixon at the finish line. Bernstein's father, Kenny, also won his first dragster race at Firebird International Raceway.
Capps covered the quarter-mile in 4.868 seconds at 310.13 mph to claim his 14th career Funny Car victory.
Anderson finished in 6.865 seconds at 201.61 mph in a Pontiac Grand Am to hold off Troy Coughlin. It was Anderson's fifth career win in Pro Stock.
ROCKINGHAM 200: Busch Grand National Series teams return to North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham at 11 a.m. today for the postponed race.
Light rain and fog Saturday morning wiped out Winston Cup practice, then after a short break in which track-drying attempts were made, heavy rain and wind swept through the area around 1 p.m. It was still raining steadily at 2 p.m. when the postponement call was made.
