Investigators identify woman killed by car while on sidewalk
By Times staff writer SPRING HILL -- The woman killed Tuesday morning by a car as she walked on a sidewalk on Spring Hill Drive was a 52-year-old native Filipino who recently became a U.S. citizen. The Florida Highway Patrol said the woman was Norma Mills. She was hit by a car driven by Catherine A. Armas of Spring Hill. Roland J. Mills, said his wife was simply out getting some exercise Tuesday morning when she was struck by a car that veered onto the north shoulder and sidewalk just west of Mariner Boulevard. Mills said his wife, who worked as a housekeeper for Tandem Health Care in Hudson, was a "happy-go-lucky person" who made everyone she met happy. "She is about the best you could ask for as far as I'm concerned," Mills said. "She was very well liked." The couple have two children -- a son, Cole, 17, and a daughter, Lizbeth, 20. Mills, who is originally from Iowa, said he met his wife while he was working for the Naval Investigative Service at the Subic Bay Naval Base in the Philippines. They were married in 1982. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
