NEW YORK -- Latrell Sprewell had his second career triple-double and scored New York's first 16 points of the two overtimes as the Knicks defeated Orlando 118-110 Friday night to end the Magic's four-game winning streak.

The 3 hour, 31 minute game was lengthened by a halftime ceremony to retire Patrick Ewing's uniform No. 33, and the Big Fella stuck around almost until the end as his former team of 15 years defeated the team he spent his final season with.

Sprewell had 28 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for his first triple double since March 28, 1997 when he was with Golden State. Tracy McGrady had 34 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds for Orlando.

In regulation, Drew Gooden's layup with 20 seconds left tied it at 95 and New York's Clarence Weatherspoon missed a point-blank layup with 0.6 seconds left after Allan Houston's shot was blocked. In the first overtime, Sprewell hit a 3-pointer to tie the score at 103 with 59 seconds left. Houston and Sprewell both missed short jumpers from the corner in the final six seconds.

Ewing did not shed any tears as he was showered with gifts and adulation during a 30-minute ceremony.

"I always will be a Knick. I always will be a New Yorker," Ewing told the crowd before he stood with his father and his three children as a banner with No. 33 was raised to the ceiling.

Ewing, an assistant with the Wizards, received a one-minute standing ovation before the fans chanted his name for 30 seconds. He holds dozens of club records including most seasons (15), games (1,039), points (23,665), rebounds (10,759), steals (1,061) and blocks (2,758). He played one season with Seattle and one with Orlando before retiring.

Also, Orlando signed point guard Chris Whitney for the rest of the season and placed center Olumide Oyedeji on the injured list with a sprained left ankle. Whitney did not play Friday.

76ERS 104, JAZZ 83: Allen Iverson scored 24 and Derrick Coleman added 16 for Philadelphia, which moved within four games of New Jersey and Indiana for the No. 1 seed in the East. The Sixers begin a five-game road trip against the West at Denver on Sunday night. The Sixers broke it open with a 14-1 run that closed the second quarter.

PACERS 107, BUCKS 98: Brad Miller scored a season-high 29 and had 12 rebounds as host Indiana snapped a six-game losing streak. Miller took over in the third quarter; he was 6-for-8 for 15 points as the Pacers shot 67 percent to take an 86-66 lead. Ron Artest returned for the Pacers after a serving a one-game suspension for disciplinary reasons and scored 17.

GRIZZLIES 126, HEAT 116 (OT): Wesley Person had 19 points and 14 rebounds as host Memphis won despite squandering a 16-point fourth-quarter lead. The Grizzlies didn't make a field goal in the final 6:34 of regulation, due mostly to a swarming, intense Miami defense. Miami's Caron Butler had a dunk and 3-pointer in the final 15 seconds of regulation to send it to overtime tied at 104.

WOLVES 118, CAVALIERS 95: Wally Szczerbiak scored 25 and Kevin Garnett added 20 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to lead Minnesota, which won its sixth consecutive and shot a season-high 57 percent. Cleveland placed guard Bimbo Coles on waivers.

CELTICS 90, RAPTORS 85: Antoine Walker scored 22 and rookie J.R. Bremer added 20 for host Boston, which won despite playing without Paul Pierce for the first time in more than three years. Walker hit a 17-foot fadeaway from the left side with 18.8 seconds left. Pierce, who had played in 257 consecutive games, the third-longest streak among active players, sat out because of a lower back strain sustained when he slipped on ice over the weekend.

HORNETS 94, NUGGETS 88: Jamal Mashburn had 24 points and nine rebounds for visiting New Orleans, which closed with an 18-12 run to send Denver to its 11th consecutive loss.

HAWKS 110, BULLS 88: Jason Terry had 23 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds for his first triple double to lead visiting Atlanta. The Hawks shot 65 percent in the first quarter and took a 36-19 lead.

SONICS 107, LAKERS 90: Ray Allen had 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his second career triple double for host Seattle, which snapped Los Angeles' six-game win streak.

CELTICS: The players association threatened to file a grievance and possibly pursue legal action over Vin Baker's suspension, saying the union was not informed. The team suspended the former All-Star indefinitely Thursday after management met with Baker, reportedly to discuss his alcohol-related problems. The NBPA contends the suspension violates the collective bargaining agreement between the league and its players. The union said that unless a satisfactory outcome is worked out with the Celtics, it will file a grievance.

CLIPPERS: Forward Elton Brand sat out against the Trail Blazers with a bruised lower left leg.

TRAIL BLAZERS: Forward Rasheed Wallace sat out against the Clippers with a sore left Achilles' tendon.

WIZARDS: Guard Tyronn Lue went on the injured list with a separated shoulder.
