SEMINOLE -- Veterans who are inpatients and outpatients of the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines will compete for prizes at the annual arts competition from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The public is invited to the free event in the J.C. Cobb Room in the main hospital, Building 100. The VA center is at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Seminole.

Some veterans will submit art that will be displayed throughout the day, while others will read poetry or perform a musical or dramatic piece after the 11 a.m. opening ceremony.

The competition is sponsored by the Bay Pines therapeutic recreation service department and Help Hospitalized Veterans, a national organization that supplies veterans with thousands of dollars worth of arts and crafts materials annually.

For information, call Jenny Green at 398-6661, ext. 4952.
