INDIAN SHORES -- Cindy Shauman lived in a beachfront condominium, partied a lot and made money selling jewelry on the eBay Internet site.
On Friday, she was found slain in her home. Investigators aren't saying how the 46-year-old woman died, only that she was a homicide victim who had likely been dead for several days.
An autopsy was performed Saturday and a forensics team searched her unit at Salt Air Condominiums, at 18840 Gulf Blvd., near Park Boulevard.
No arrests had been made Saturday.
Shauman formerly owned a jewelry store in Moline, Ill., where she and her husband had two sons. For years, she used her Indian Shores condo as an occasional vacation spot. However, she moved into the condo full time more than a year ago, said her estranged husband, Kevin Shauman, 47, who remains in Illinois.
Kevin Shauman said he last talked to his wife on the phone Monday or Tuesday. He hadn't been able to reach her since.
"I e-mailed and faxed stuff to her, and didn't get a response," he said. "It's just not like her. I knew something wasn't right."
So he asked the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to check on her. Friday evening, deputies had a local acquaintance of the Indian Shores woman unlock her condo, where they found the body.
Neighbors in the five-unit condo building were stunned.
"This is unsettling. It's so quiet here, and I never heard anything," said neighbor Maureen Soranno. "She must have known whoever it was, because her door wasn't broken in. She had roommates sometimes, and she partied pretty hard."
Some neighbors said they had clashed with Cindy Shauman because of her frequent, late, loud gatherings.
"She was a wild one. She partied a lot and kept late hours, and it was a little tough to take sometimes," said Rocky Clevenger, who lives just beneath Shauman's condo. "People up there were coming and going all the time."
Friends staying in Clevenger's condo last saw Shauman on Tuesday.
