Express your dreams of a peaceful world artfully and your painting or drawing can be considered as a design for a 2003 UNICEF greeting card. Artists ages 13 and younger are eligible to enter the contest, now in its 12th year. Entry forms, available at any Pier 1 location and online at www.pier1.com, must be sent along with the hand-drawn art (no computer-generated images) to the home office of Pier 1, P.O. Box 961020, Fort Worth, Texas 76161-0020, by April 11. Two grand-prize winners will be selected to have their artwork reproduced on greeting cards on sale in September. The two winners also will win $500 and a trip to New York. Money raised from the sales of these cards is donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF. UNICEF, originally founded as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, now helps children in developing countries with a broad range of needs.

Xpress quote

"If I lost 20 pounds, it's entirely possible that I'd suddenly feel a lot of pressure to lose 20 more. But instead, I'm a total diva, and I don't need to change."

-- Marissa Jaret Winokur, plus-size actor who plays the lead in the Broadway show Hairspray, in February/March edition of Teen Vogue.
