Navy Fireman Apprentice Nicholas N. Caswell, son of Laura Champ of Seminole, has graduated from the Basic Enlisted Submarine Course at the Naval Submarine School in Groton, Conn. He joined the Navy in September 2002.

Army Spec. Allan M. Rissmiller, son of John Rissmiller of St. Petersburg, was recently promoted to his current rank after serving six months in Kosovo. He is stationed in Germany and is awaiting deployment to the Middle East. He is a 1996 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Sabrina B. Goodwin, daughter of Johnny Lue Green and wife of James B. Goodwin, both of St. Petersburg, has been deployed to the Middle East from MacDill Air Force Base. She is attached to the Naval Reserves Center in Clearwater. She recently completed a storekeepers course in Athens, Ga., and served on the USS Porter. She attended St. Petersburg College and is a 1977 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Aaron Bedy, son of Nancy Bedy and Joseph M. Bedy, both of Seminole, was recently commissioned as an ensign in the Navy Reserves, where he works in public affairs. He is the corporate communications manager for Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal, and was involved in media relations during the kidnapping and murder of correspondent Daniel Pearl. Bedy has served in the Navy Reserve for nine years. He is a graduate of Seminole High School and the University of Florida.

Navy Seaman Recruit Richard A. Graham, son of Christina J. Colman of Pinellas Park and William R. Graham of St. Petersburg, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2002 graduate of Dixie-Hollins High School.

Navy Seaman Jonathon A. Kizzee, son of Susan L. Ellis of Pinellas Park, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
