TAMPA -- Homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of two people who were found in an apartment Thursday off Armenia Avenue.

Maintenance workers at the Dolphin Apartments at 2519 West Frierson Ave. saw two bodies inside apartment No. 8, police said.

The workers dialed 911 and Tampa Fire Rescue workers forced their way into the apartment. They discovered two adults -- a man and a woman -- dead from blunt trauma, said Tampa Police spokeswoman Katie Hughes.

Detectives identified the woman as Ana Daysi Alfaro, 55.She lived in the apartment, Hughes said.

Neighbors said Alfaro, who had several colorful Betty Boop flags on her balcony railing, had lived at the complex for two years.

The man's name was not released Thursday night because his relatives had not been notified. An autopsy on both will be conducted by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner.
