SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP: The Museum of Science and Industry, 4801 E Fowler Ave., will begin taking registration today for MOSI members for the Summer Science Camp. Registration for nonmembers will start March 15. The camp will run from June 2 through Aug. 1 and include more than 200 half- and full-day classes. Campers will explore space, underwater life, underground secrets and robotics and do experiments. Other highlights are canoeing, hiking, rappeling, snorkeling, rock climbing and kayaking. Costs range from $17 for members and $23 for nonmembers for 2- and 3-year-olds to $235 for members and $315 for nonmembers for the Explorer Travel Camps. The primary qualification to benefit from the program is for taxpayers making less than $35,000. Bring the following information: photo identification card; Social Security cards for you, your spouse and all dependents; correct birth dates for all names that appear on the return; forms W-2 and 1099, including spouse's; for dependent care credit, provider's name, address, Social Security number and amount you paid; for education credits, 1098T or 1098E and amount paid for qualified expenses. If married and filing a joint return, both spouses must come. Copies of pre-1960s Ybor City/West Tampa periodicals are needed for loan to the library for digitization or photocopying. Through a grant funded by the Florida Humanities Council, the library is building a Latino Tampa Periodicals Web site to preserve local Spanish culture. PAINT THE TOWN PROJECT: The Lutz Community Council is seeking a one-story house, occupied by someone disabled or a senior citizen, for its fourth annual Paint the Town project. SIZZLIN' SUMMER FUN CAMP: Employment applications are being accepted through April 4 for positions for the Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation Department's 2003 Sizzlin' Summer Fun camp and year-round temp pool. Applicants must be at least 16, have a valid driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, copy of driving record, Social Security card and undergo a background check. Positions include recreation leaders and aides who will work 40-hour weeks from June 2 through Aug. 1 and a recreation therapist and therapy aides who work with the disabled. The temp pool is used to fill in during sick leave, vacations and emergency situations. Education and experience working with children are major considerations for hiring.
