If you are a SpongeBob SquarePants fanatic, your VCR probably is already set for the premiere of "The Lost Episode," airing during a two-hour SpongeBob special from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday. In the live-action portion of the special, Patchy the Pirate (Tom Kenny, also the voice of the absorbent star), who is president of SpongeBob's fan club, has uncovered a never-before-seen episode of the series. Patchy, the forgetful buccaneer who has lost a number of things, such as his leg, eye and hand, sets out on a journey to find the lost episode . . . which he has misplaced.

SpongeBob SquarePants’ new episode, “The Sponge Who Could Fly,” (a.k.a. “The Lost Episode”), debuts Friday at 9:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.

When the precious tape is finally recovered, (thanks to a very handy map), Patchy redeems himself and premieres the long-lost SpongeBob adventure "The Sponge Who Could Fly" at 9:30 p.m.

When SpongeBob tries to fly to be like his friends the jellyfish, negative residents of Bikini Bottom discourage him. Once SpongeBob forgets about their taunting, he realizes that the answer to his problem has been literally blowing right in his face.

When he finally achieves his dream, the people of Bikini Bottom are overcome with greed and they demand SpongeBob's help. But will he be able to continue to fly among the jellyfish?

Some friends who watched the episode agreed that it was very funny and thoughtful. "I thought it was the most hilarious episode yet because of the few musical parts," said Sarah Bash, 11, of New Port Richey.

"It really did teach me a lesson about not caring what other people think of you," said Alyssa Updegrave, 12, of New Port Richey. "It also taught me to follow my dreams."

"I didn't like the Patchy interruptions, but I really liked it," said Amanda Josephik, 12, of New Port Richey.

I thought the whole episode, including the Patchy parts, was funny, as SpongeBob always is. If you are a lover of SpongeBob, definitely tune in Friday for one of the best episodes yet.
