Sliced strawberries and balsamic vinegar.
Not so strange, even if you add a touch of freshly ground black pepper, as some chefs do. It's an easy dessert using a great local product that's in season. Restaurants would be smart to use strawberries with cucumbers when tomatoes and other produce fail.
