Tampa Museum of Art

600 N Ashley Drive. Current big show, in its last U.S. outing, is "Magna Graecia: Greek Art from South Italy and Sicily."
Florida Holocaust Museum, St. Petersburg

Permanent exhibits include art of the Holocaust, library and electronic learning center, plus a boxcar used to transport prisoners to Auschwitz.
Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), Tampa

Includes IMAX Dome Theater. Permanent exhibits include features on hurricanes and weather, the human body, dinosaurs, space, flight and Florida, plus daily planetarium shows.
Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg

Located on the downtown waterfront, permanent collection includes 19th and 20th century French and American art -- paintings, photography and decorative arts. Current special exhibits: French drawings and studio glass, including work by Dale Chihuly.
The Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota

Along with the permanent collection of baroque masterworks, a current show focuses on Chinese ceramics. Also on the grounds: the Circus Museum and John and Mable Ringling's restored waterfront home, Ca'd' Zan.
Salvador Dali Museum, St. Petersburg

In addition to the famous huge works by the Spanish master, current shows feature works by Dali contemporary Joan Miro.
Florida International Museum, St. Petersburg
Permanent exhibit: major collection of mementos from the life of John F. Kennedy. Current shows include Soviet-era art and a photo show of famous women.
