"A Magical Night of Entertainment" offers a rocking, rapping, hip-hopping evening at Sims Park in Pasco.

A piece of American Idol comes to New Port Richey tonight, when Idol finalist A.J. Gil headlines Radio Disney's "A Magical Night of Entertainment" from 6 to 11 p.m. in Sims Park.

The show is the second in a series of 12 shows to be presented over the course of the 11-day Chasco Fiesta, which continues through March 30.

Gil (full name Abner Juda Gil) placed eighth in the popular show's first season in 2002. He racked up 55,095 votes after singing How Sweet It Is to Be Loved By You, My Cherie Amour and All or Nothing. He was eliminated July 24.

Others in the high-energy pop-rock show are B5, five Atlanta-based singer-break dancers who have been compared to the early Jackson Five. B5, as in "brothers five," was formed in 1997 in St. Petersburg, where they entered a Radio Disney contest and won first place. They've opened for Isaac Hayes, Paul Anka, PYT and other groups. They were featured on the Jenny Jones Show and the Good Morning Show on Fox TV.

Also in the lineup is 3rd Wish, a close harmony pop-rock group (Make It Right, The Way I Do) made up of Justin Martin, 20, Ricky Gonzalez, 22, and Alex Acosta, 24. They have played at area schools, festivals, malls, theme parks and clubs and been featured on Orlando television.

The rap duo Young Sons (Kofi and Kwame Frimpong) joins the program doing rap and hip-hop. Their syncopated composition Trust was on the Windrift Music 2002 Compilation CD, and they wrote and produced all 11 songs on their 1999 album Sounds of the Thunder. Young Sons performs for schools, churches, parties and at benefits.

Rounding out tonight's show is the Orlando-based girl group, Triple Image, made up of sisters Bridgett, Brittney and Brianna Fuentes. They'll host Nickelodeon's "U Pick Live" from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 31, but, meanwhile, they're playing at malls and festivals.
