Volunteers will work on commercial districtBy JOHN BALZ and JOSH ZIMMER© St. Petersburg Times published March 23, 2003 KEYSTONE -- The Hillsborough City-County Planning Commission is seeking volunteers to help design an expansion to Keystone's de facto commercial center at Gunn Highway and N Mobley Road. A special district is part of the Keystone-Odessa Community Plan, which mandates a variety of rural architectural and landscaping features. One of the committee's goals will be to persuade landowners, who own 267,000-square-feet of commercial space throughout the community, to transfer some of those development rights to the district. Volunteers would attend meetings once every few weeks over a four- to six-month period. The sign-up deadline is March 28. Council member to move to Hunter's Green TAMPA PALMS -- City Council member Shawn Harrison is leaving Tampa Palms but he isn't leaving New Tampa. Harrison and his wife, Susan, have put their Wellington home on the market and are, according to Shawn, in the process of moving north of Interstate-75 to Hunter's Green. The Harrisons have lived in their Wellington home since 1994. Shawn Harrison said the reason behind the move is simple: More room is needed for their daughter and son. "It's amazing how much space a 6-year-old and a soon-to-be 3-year-old take up," he said.
