AUBURN

Senior forward Marquis Daniels, realizing the Tigers had beaten Wake Forest:

"I won't tell you what I wanted to do. Many guys that play in college don't get a chance to advance to the Sweet 16. It's a great feeling."

* * *

Coach Cliff Ellis on if the excitement wears off:

"When you go to the Sweet 16, I'm telling you, it is so gratifying. This is the third time for me, and the feeling is so wonderful that I have the same feeling."

* * *

Daniels on playing 42 minutes Friday against Saint Joseph's and coming back Sunday:

"I went to sleep early last night. Getting in foul trouble (and sitting out) helped, too."

* * *

Ellis on Auburn's next game:

"I have a lot of respect for (coach) Eddie Sutton, but I'd rather be playing Oklahoma State than playing Syracuse at Albany."

* * *

Senior guard Derrick Bird on defending Wake Forest:

"We wanted to get them in a halfcourt game. That helped us out a lot."

WAKE FOREST

Senior guard Josh Howard on his last college game:

"It hurts, man. But I have to deal with it. I had my opportunities and didn't capitalize. I'm going to keep in touch with my teammates. We're going to always be family."

* * *

Coach Skip Prosser on playing at the St. Pete Times Forum:

"It's fine. The people were very, very gracious at the hotel and the facility. That wasn't the problem."

* * *

Prosser on the emotional highs and lows and the effect on the Deacons:

"Winning the ACC was big emotionally. We lost to two good NCAA Tournament teams before this game. We put a lot into it, but I don't know what our guys were thinking today."
