Senior forward Matt Bonner on the inevitability of losing:
"It's like seeing your dog get hit by a car. There's nothing you can do about it."
Donovan on the team's shooting 37 percent from the field:
"We had some decent looks, but non-shooting gets contagious and it took some steam right out of us."
Sophomore forward David Lee on playing now compared to when ranked No.1:
"We continued to play with the same intensity. Like Alabama, we had a target on our backs. We got teams' best shots, and we didn't defend them as well."
Donovan on early exits from the NCAA Tournament:
"If someone told me you're going to go to five straight NCAAs, one year go to the national championship, one year the Sweet 16, one year second-round exit and a first-round exit, I'd still sign up for that in a second."
Senior forward Adam Ballinger on the Spartans' rebounding advantage:
"Rebounding is pretty much an effort stat. I'm not saying that they didn't try, sometimes the ball bounces your way. Tonight was our night, maybe."
Freshman center Paul Davis on the defense:
"Our defense was a huge key to this game. Our defense made our offense go. The turnovers that we forced led to fastbreak points."
Sophomore guard Kelvin Torbert:
"In the second half, when we started building on that lead, I kind of felt like they were getting tired. That's when we tried to make a run and finish them off."
Torbert on the pro-Gators atmosphere:
"We knew coming in it was going to be a hostile crowd, we just felt like we had to come out early and make a statement."
